Prediction & analysis

Predictive maintenance

Predictive maintenance uses condition monitoring to estimate when equipment will need servicing, so that work is scheduled by actual condition rather than by a fixed calendar.

Why it matters

It shares almost all of its machinery with predictive safety - the same sensors, the same trend analysis, the same baselines. The difference is what the prediction is used for, and a plant that installs one gets much of the other.

How it works

Condition indicators such as vibration, temperature and acoustic signature are tracked against a baseline for that asset. Deviation trends indicate degradation, and projecting the trend estimates remaining useful life.

Example

Scheduling a bearing replacement based on a rising vibration trend rather than on hours run.

In Alfa HazardX

Not a product feature. The correlated heat, vibration and sound channels make machine-failure signatures visible, and using that for maintenance scheduling is an adjacent application rather than something the system does today.
