What is Alfa HazardX?

Alfa HazardX is a predictive industrial hazard-monitoring system that recognises a developing hazard by the behaviour of eleven sensing channels, physically rotates to find its bearing from a single fixed point, forecasts which named plant assets it will reach, and records the episode with the system's own reasoning attached.

Alfa HazardX is a deployable V2 field node. It is not a certified industrial safety product, and nothing on this page should be read as a certification claim.

The Alfa HazardX field node. One enclosure carries the gas, flame, vibration, sound and climate sensing elements, the controller that classifies risk locally, and the display and buzzer that fire whether or not the network is up.

The short version

A single industrial node watches eleven hazard-sensing channels at once. Instead of eleven independent thresholds each capable of tripping on its own, the readings are fused into one risk score with a plain-language state - so the floor sees SAFE, MODERATE or CRITICAL while the per-channel detail stays one click away.

Two things separate it from a conventional detector. It is predictive: the system scores where readings are heading, not only where they are, which is the difference between a warning and a report. And it is explained: once the deterministic layer has classified a hazard, a generative model turns the channel behaviour into an account of what is happening and what to do about it, written for the person on shift rather than the engineer offsite.

What it senses

The Alfa HazardX sensor tray, showing the gas-sensing elements mounted behind recessed apertures in the enclosure.
The sensor tray lifts out as one piece. Each gas cap sits behind a recessed aperture so airflow reaches the sensing element without exposing the board, and a degraded module is a swap rather than a rewire.

The reference build carries four gas channels alongside flame, vibration, sound and climate sensing. Each is useful alone and considerably more useful in combination: rising temperature on its own is weak evidence, while rising temperature correlated with a vibration signature and a sound change is a machine failing.

  • Combustible gas - smoke and LPG
  • Solvent vapour - alcohol and process solvents
  • Carbon monoxide - and combustible gas
  • Air quality - general contaminants and chemical vapour
  • Flame detection
  • Vibration, for mechanical fault signatures
  • Sound, as a correlating channel for machine behaviour
  • Temperature, humidity and pressure

Deterministic decides, AI explains

The deterministic layer is authoritative: the absolute-limit floor, the behavioural signature layer and the local alarm decide the safety response. The generative-AI layer is advisory only, and structurally so - it has no software interface, permission or code path by which it can invoke any actuator, and the system runs undegraded when it is switched off.

This is the central design decision, and it is a deliberate constraint rather than a limitation. A language model is a good explainer and a poor safety authority: it can be unavailable, it costs money per call, and it can be confidently wrong. So the model is invoked only when the deterministic layer has already decided something is worth explaining - cost-gated, with a per-device cooldown - and the system falls back to threshold-only output whenever the model cannot be reached.

The practical consequence is that no failure of the AI layer can change what the alarm does.

How the pieces connect

The field node samples every channel continuously and evaluates thresholds on the device itself, so the alarm decision is made locally and does not wait for a network. Readings are then carried to the platform, where trend and baseline analysis run across a longer window than the node can hold. Ambiguous or serious readings are escalated to the generative layer, which returns a severity, a plain-language cause and a recommended action. Operators see the result in real time and can trigger on-site alarms remotely.

The full route, endpoint shapes and firmware control loop are documented publicly - no login required.

Who it is for

Small and mid-sized manufacturing units, where the hazards are real and the budget for a conventional instrumented safety system is not. A plant that cannot justify eleven certified point detectors and the wiring to match is the case this exists to serve.

Common questions

What is Alfa HazardX?
Alfa HazardX is a predictive industrial hazard-monitoring system that recognises a developing hazard by the behaviour of eleven sensing channels, physically rotates to find its bearing from a single fixed point, forecasts which named plant assets it will reach, and records the episode with the system's own reasoning attached.
What hazards can Alfa HazardX monitor?
The reference build reads eleven measurement channels from eight sensing elements: combustible gas, carbon monoxide and general air quality on dedicated gas channels, infrared flame, ambient temperature, humidity and barometric pressure from one combined module, a contact surface-temperature probe, three-axis vibration, sound level, and a camera frame. The element count and the channel count differ because one module can carry three channels.
Does the AI control the safety response?
No. The deterministic layer is authoritative: thresholds, risk classification and the local alarm decide the safety response. The generative model is advisory - it explains what the deterministic layer already decided and recommends a response. If the model is unavailable, unaffordable or wrong, the alarm behaviour is unchanged.
What happens when the internet goes down?
Detection continues. Threshold evaluation, the on-device display and the buzzer all run on the node itself, so a network outage costs dashboard visibility and AI analysis - it does not cost the alarm. Readings buffer and resend when the link returns.
Is Alfa HazardX industrially certified?
No. It holds no ATEX, IECEx, SIL or intrinsic-safety certification, and it should not be relied upon as a certified safety instrument or as a replacement for one. Certification is a roadmap item, not a current property. The node itself is the deployable V2 revision, built to sit alongside certified instrumentation as a monitoring and early-warning layer rather than to replace it.
Who created Alfa HazardX?
Alfa HazardX was founded and invented by Agresh Agrawal. The method is the subject of Indian patent application 202641098309, filed at The Patent Office, Chennai on 13 August 2026. The application was published on 21 August 2026.
