Digital hazard twin

A digital hazard twin is a three-dimensional model of a monitored facility, registered with node positions and a named asset register, onto which a measured hazard source and its forecast spread zones are projected.

Why it matters

A concentration figure is a fact an operator still has to interpret under time pressure. A list of named places is one they can act on. The translation between the two is where a monitoring system either earns its place on a shift or does not.

How it works

Concentric spread zones are computed about the source at successive time horizons using a closed-form radial growth model, and each zone is intersected with the facility's asset register to name what falls inside it.

Example

Rather than a concentration field, the system reports that within sixty seconds the affected zone reaches the solvent store and the packing line.

In Alfa HazardX

Distinguished from a conventional plant twin in that the source it displays is one the system physically measured by rotational sweep, not one assumed by a dispersion model or entered by an operator.
